About Sunshine Coast Eskrima

Sunshine Coast Eskrima was established by Snr Master Teresa Cronin in 2004. Since that time Snr Master Teresa has taught many students and bought many students through to black belt. Snr Master Teresa welcomes everyone who wishes to learn.

Master Teresa’s  love of martial arts started as a 9 year old introduced to Judo. As a teenager she studied Tae Kwon Do and Ju Jitsu. In the mid 1990’s she discovered her passion. CCDP under Snr GM  Vince Palumbo and GM Rob Davis. She was awarded her black belt by the founder, Supreme Grand Master Cacoy Cañete. Prior to his passing in 2016, he awarded Teresa with her 4th degree black belt. In 2018 GM Kitty Cañete (SGM Cacoy Cañete’s daughter) awarded Teresa with her 6th degree blackbelt. She says she has been also been blessed to train with many other highly ranked instructors in CCDP. Such as Snr GM John John Mac, Snr GM Anthony Kleeman, and Snr GM Craig Bajraktarevic-Hayward. Teresa also incorporates others styles  in her teachings and is grateful to Cikgu Maul Mornie , Hanshi Tino Cebrano, Shawn Zirger, Doug Marcia, Dan Inosanto, and Shihan Chiko Xerri for generously sharing their knowledge and skills. Teresa also holds a 1st degree blackbelt in Arjukanpo.
